Ramcity usually sells Crucial or Samsung original ram however they are no longer manufacturing DDR3 RAM. We do not sell second hand or recycled RAM. To provide our Lifetime warranty and guarantee, it needs to be new and it needs to be of a certain quality. Since COVID shortages, Ramcity has contract manufactured its own DDR3 RAM under it's own label. This is the only way we could guarantee consistency of quality.

This 8GB (1x 8GB) DDR3L 1600 MT/s Dual rank, x8 configuration RAM module for use in DDR3L compatible systems and operates at 1600 MT/s with an overall transfer rate of PC3L-12800.

This RAM module also operates at a standard voltage of 1.35V / 1.5V and is designed to allow you to run more applications simultaneously, switch between them faster, and provide a smoother computing experience.

Why is the speed of this RAM module shown as 1600 MT/s instead of 1600 Mhz?

When it comes to measuring DDR RAM speed, MT/s and MHz are used interchangeably, which is not actually correct.

DDR stands for double data rate which means data is transfers on both the rising and falling edges of the clock signal. Meaning that the transfer rate is roughly twice the speed of the I/O bus clock. This RAM module runs at 800MHz per second, but the effective rate is 1600 megatransfers per second (MT/s) because there are 800 million rising edges per second and 800 million falling edges per second of a clock signal running at 800 MHz.

Dual Voltage for Newer and Older systems

This RAM module supports voltages of both 1.35V and 1.5V. If your original installed memory is 1.5V and you are adding a dual-voltage 1.35V/1.5V module to an open DIMM slot, this dual-voltage RAM module will operate at 1.5V, not 1.35V. If all installed memory modules are dual-voltage 1.35V/1.5V and the system supports DDR3L (1.35V low voltage), then this RAM module will run at 1.35V.
